St. Patrick’s day parade in Cork 2012
The weather was remarkably good this morning. The sun was shining, loads of people went out on the streets dressed in green, there were children eveywhere waving Irish flags, farmer’s market was up and running on Grand parade. I just love St.Patrick’s day! [...]-
Evening view over Paris from the Eiffel Tower
The timing was pretty extreme, we decided to climb the Eiffel tower the same day we arrived to Paris, and of course we didn’t buy the tickets in advance, so we almost missed a very beautiful sunset. But we made it! [...] -

Germany – Czech Republic car trip 2011
That was an incredible road trip. We got a car in Munich, went to Prague for 2 days, returned to Germany and drove round for 4 days, stayed in small hotels and tried local food on the way. We ended up in Prien am Chiemsee in the end. Read more for all posts and photos from that trip. [...] -
Prague from the Petřín Lookout Tower
Petřín Tower is very compact, and it’s pretty easy to take the stairs to the top and back . If the weather is clear you can see the whole Prague underneath. And the view is definitely worth it. Petřín Tower is famous for it’s resemblance with the Eiffel Tower, but it definitely has it's own character. [...] -
Aran Islands
This time we spent 3 days on Inis Mór in Kilmurvey b&b, had the best Irish stew every day. Also walked to Dún Aonghasa in the evening and caught a beautiful sunset. There was no one on the cliffs in that time, the wind was strong and the waves were high as never. [...] -
Abandoned Cork
If you go up the Barrack street in direction of the Bandon road you will find yourself in the area of empty shops, closed bars, abandoned takeaways. You can see, that some time ago this area was full of life. [...] -
Immigration paperwork in Ireland
Since I'm a Russian citizen I need a whole bunch of documents to stay and work in Ireland. I have to renew some of them every year, and I just finished that interesting process for this year, so I am ready to describe it. [...] Subscribe to blog updates!

Sunset in Bad Endorf
I was sorting out my photos from the Christmas vacations and wanted to share with you few more pictures I took in Bad Endorf in Germany. I’ve already posted few before, but they are so different, that it makes sense to show the whole evening. The sun went down pretty fast coloring the sky in all shades of yellow and red. The sunset in that area is genuinly amazing.
On the other note, it’s 4.30 at night and I’m at work. Having a nightshift could be quiet fascinating. I thought it would be a torture, but it’s actually pretty good. Though I can’t want to have a vacation at last. I will finish nightshift in the beginning of March, will have 5 days of transition and then – Paris!
I really can’t wait.
Bad Endorf, Germany
It’s hard to belive now, but I took these photos this Christmas in Germany. It was pretty cold, don’t let the greeт grass tell you otherwise! Though the color totally depended on the sun – we went out walking sometime in the evening and could observe a very beautiful sunset in the end.
That area is located near Prien au Chiemsee and you can see the Alps pretty much from your backyard. It’s a breathtaking view I must admit, but that part of Germany is in general one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. I wish we drive along the alpine road again this summer when we have a second car trip.
Glass Christmas decorations in Cologne
I already posted few photos of the glass decorations on the Christmas market in Cologne, but now I found a photo of a man who was making them right on the market. It’s a very exciting process, to see how something that beautiful is created.
Surprisingly, I din’t find that huge variety of Christmas decorations in Cologne that I saw in Munich or Berlin in previous years. I wonder if it’s a regional thing, in Cologne markets are full of food and crafts, a lot of crafted things made of wool, leather, paper. You can easily buy a wallet, belt, bag, scarf or even a table cloth there – everything is really beautiful. On the last day of the market most of the sellers make discounts by the way, which is cool )
Christmas market in Cologne
The good thing about being a Russian is that Christmas is not over for me after 25th at all, it’s just starting. Can’t wait for the New year, already planned the food menu, movies to watch, and presents of course.
Want to keep the Christmas spirit as much as possible, so I will post my vacation photos for a while.
Took these on the Christmas market in Cologne, I’m so glad I took my macro lens and could take at least few detailed photos of the beautiful glass decorations they had there.
I so liked the lights on the first photo, was walking around them for 2 days and couldn’t decide to buy until they had a sale in the last day and we bought 2 different ones. They are just amazing, put them on the wall in the bedroom and seriously considering keeping them for the rest of the year. They make the room so cozy…
This is a very cool thing, I bought one like this for myself. It’s a Christmas decoration that you put on a tree, its made of glass and you can put a small candle inside. Don’t know about safety, but looks really good )

Christmas in Berlin, 2009
I took these pictures in Berlin in 2009, and only now I finally started to sort them out. This is what I like about this site – it gives me a motivation to dig through my stash and find more and more pictures to post, the ones that probably would have stayed in folders forever. Thank you all who read me and support me, if not for you I wouldn’t sort my pictures like ever…)
That Christmas was cold, really really cold. It was -17 in Berlin, but felt like -35. And people say that Russia is cold… To be fair it’s not like I had a lot of warm clothes with me, after some time in Ireland you can easily forget HOW cold the winter can be.
It was the first Christmas market I’ve seen, and it was unforgettable. I still think that Berlin central market is one of the best, if not the very best.
