St. Patrick’s day parade in Cork 2012
The weather was remarkably good this morning. The sun was shining, loads of people went out on the streets dressed in green, there were children eveywhere waving Irish flags, farmer’s market was up and running on Grand parade. I just love St.Patrick’s day! [...]-
Evening view over Paris from the Eiffel Tower
The timing was pretty extreme, we decided to climb the Eiffel tower the same day we arrived to Paris, and of course we didn’t buy the tickets in advance, so we almost missed a very beautiful sunset. But we made it! [...] -
Halloween in Cork: street fashion
Last night I took my camera for a walk to take pictures of the Halloween costumes and people partying around. There were so many crazy awesome costumes and wild makeups! I never realized that on Halloween streets of Cork turn into one huge party. [...] -
Germany – Czech Republic car trip 2011
That was an incredible road trip. We got a car in Munich, went to Prague for 2 days, returned to Germany and drove round for 4 days, stayed in small hotels and tried local food on the way. We ended up in Prien am Chiemsee in the end. Read more for all posts and photos from that trip. [...] -
Prague from the Petřín Lookout Tower
Petřín Tower is very compact, and it’s pretty easy to take the stairs to the top and back . If the weather is clear you can see the whole Prague underneath. And the view is definitely worth it. Petřín Tower is famous for it’s resemblance with the Eiffel Tower, but it definitely has it's own character. [...] -
Aran Islands
This time we spent 3 days on Inis Mór in Kilmurvey b&b, had the best Irish stew every day. Also walked to Dún Aonghasa in the evening and caught a beautiful sunset. There was no one on the cliffs in that time, the wind was strong and the waves were high as never. [...] -
Abandoned Cork
If you go up the Barrack street in direction of the Bandon road you will find yourself in the area of empty shops, closed bars, abandoned takeaways. You can see, that some time ago this area was full of life. [...] -

Della Palma gelato in Rome
Anyone who ever been in Italy would agree that Italian icecream is the best in the world. It’s hard to believe it until you try, but it’s totally worth it even if you are not into sweets at all. You can only have so much icecream in one vacation, so it’s important to find the best one for your taste which means trying different flavors. Some of them are pretty exotic, like chilli chocolate, but if you are into experiments you have a big chance of finding something very awesome. They sell gelato pretty much everywhere in Rome, there are … Continue reading
Irish Examiner food festival in Cork 2012
There will be food photos in this post because I just returned from the Irish Examiner food festival in Fitzgerald park and I couldn’t help taking few macro shots of the tasty things they have in there. In was the first time I went to this festival, and it was a lot of fun. Basically it’s a park area where Cork restaurants, pubs and local brands present their food and drinks. There are places to sit everywhere, I liked the bean bags near the fountain) You pay the entrance fee, but the food inside is not expensive at all, they … Continue reading
Saturday breakfast in Amicus
It’s been a while since I posted photos of the breakfast here, so this time I got few tasty shots in “Amicus Paul street” on Saturday morning and wanted to share them with you. It’s hard to find a place to eat in the morning on the weekend (surprisingly). It is surprising, because to my opinion weekend is when people actually want to eat out in the morning. But looks like Amicus is one of the few places that open up early, on Saturday they open at 8.30 which is incredibly early for Cork standards ) Just to compare, Market … Continue reading
Obika mozzarella bar in Rome
This time in Rome I had a “mozzarella and prosciutto” phase, so it was hard for me to miss a mozzarella bar. It’s a network of restaurants called Obika, they all have the same design (which reminds me of sushi bars for some reason). But anyway, it is a real mozzarella bar – all dishes from the menu include one of the four types of mozzarella they offer. One thing I loved the most there was Crema di Pomodoro ‘La Motticella’, it’s a cold tomato soup with bazil that they serve with crostini and burrata, a creamy mozzarella. It’s the … Continue reading
Restaurants and food in Rome
I never liked Italian food before I went to Italy. I wasn’t really a pizza fan, Parma ham was too salty for me, and mozzarella was well, something that doesn’t have much taste at all. Of course it’s only true if you buy all of the above in the nearest Tesco. Going to Rome kinda changed my views on the Italian food completely. I had the most awesome pizza ever, very simple and thin and crispy. And mozzarella with prosciutto is just the right thing to eat when it’s about 30 degrees outside. And gnocchi with different sauces. I even … Continue reading
