Sunset in Paris, 2012

It was very wise of me to take an extra day off to have a rest after the vacation. At least I had time to start sorting out the photos! ) But in general the vacation was intense, can’t believe we only spent 4 days in Paris, feels like more than a week.

We arrived on Thursday and the very same day decided to climb the Eiffel tower to see the sunset. Someone might say “it’s such a cliché” – don’t care! It was beautiful and totally worth it ) I took my tripod to Paris and was ready to use it. “To climb” is a strong word though, used the elevator of course, no way I’m climbing the stairs that high )

The queue for the tower was not that long as i remember it to be in summer, but still we spent around 45 minutes there and almost missed the sundown. If you decide to go to Paris and visit the Eiffel tower do yourself a favor and buy the tickets online. You can do it here, you need to pick the exact time of visit though, that’s why I didn’t book it, wasn’t sure that we will be there at that time. There is a separate line for the people with reservations, but it was totally empty.

The sunset passed really fast, it was just 10-15 minutes of the violet sky, but the twilight and the night Paris were really beautiful as well. Will post more photos later, I first devided them into few different sessions, but maybe I will mix them up. We’ll see )

lol, I thought you took the stairs in the end? Slacker – I’ve walked up the stairs before, at least twice. I guess it’s good you that you didn’t go to Montparnasse tower – I think they’re doing some work at the moment to make some giant covered tourist area on the roof so you don’t get an “open view” any more.
