Dublin pubs: Slattery’s bar

Rating: ★★★★½

This time in Dublin I was really impressed by the pubs they have there. Very old Irish pubs, 2 floors, heavy stairs, dark polished wood everywhere, red or black leather seats.

We found this pub early in the morning around 9 o’clock somewhere in the city center. We were hunting for some awesome local Irish breakfast and kinda found it)
The food is served on the second floor in Slattery’s bar, they have very cozy seats near the window where you can see the street and people beneath.

But the most amazing thing is, that even in the morning, we were there around 9, there were people drinking Guinness and Heineken downstairs. They have a totally different idea of the drinking here, this is something to get used to and something to accept I guess )

lol – I can’t remember where I was but I remember seeing a guy do the same thing in Paris or somewhere once. He came in and he was like “ooh yeah, need a glass of red wine to get myself going, then I’ll go to work”, so he had that and then he had another one!! I think he finally left after the second but what the hell… drinking two glass of red wine before 9am… before you’ve even been to work?

i can imagine drinking wine in the morning, or, dont know… cider. But guinness, no way. It’s really heavy, one pint is like a whole loaf of bread with alcohol. In the morning!
