O’Conaill chocolate shop

O’Conaill is a 2 story chocolate shop and a cafe on the Church Street. They sell candies, fudge, chocolate bars made with different percentage of cacao, chocolate bars with multiple fillings like pepper or ginger.

They used to have a small shop 2 years ago, I took one of my first Cork pictures there back in 2009.

Right now they have 2 floors where you can have a cup of hot chocolate and some pastry. And by hot chocolate I really mean chocolate – they melt their bars and mix them with praline and cream. It’s so tasty, so bad but so tasty!

Nomnom – I’m always sad because white chocolate in France never seems to taste the same as it does in the UK. Not sure why… I mean, white chocolate can’t be that hard to make, or fail at, but the French stuff always tastes faintly like margarine, no matter the store.

By the way, what’s a “message bar”?

Hmm, thats weird. I remember cool chocolate shops in Paris, they looked really awesome. Don’t remember though if I tried real French chocolate. But well, France is close enough to Belgium so…

In my imagination it could be a bar with some empty space on the cover so you could write something on it ) But I have no idea what it was in real life, they don’t have this board in the shop after the renovation (

Oh, of course we have many great chocolate shops in France – I was complaining specifically about the white chocolate here. I guess maybe French don’t consider it to be so valid as other chocolate so maybe don’t put so much effort into making it good!

“Couldn’t reach me at home” – yeah right… like they even tried. Douchebag French postman!
