Vatican museum – Rome, 2011

One thing I can say about Vatican museum – too many tourists. The queue is not that long, looks horrifying though. But it took me about half an hour to get inside. in about one kilometer range from the Vatican people start poking you on the street offering a place in the tourist groups that won’t have to stay in the queue. We didn’t use any of the offers, and it was a good choice, cause tourist groups don’t save that much time at all.

There are a lot of halls inside, and everyone is slowly moving towards Sistine Chapel which makes an impression of one big queue sometimes. Was really interesting though, I can’t remember last time I was in the museum, and the atmosphere of the place reminded me a little about school field trips.

Pretty impressive stuff – surprised it only took 30 minutes to get inside. I queued outside Versailles chateau once for about an hour, just to get tickets, only to find there’s another 45 minutes queue or so after you’ve paid :p

I think there are so (SO) many agents advertising the tours that it naturally reduces the queue. They start with “omg that queue is crazy, you would be insane to stand there, it will take you hours and hours”.
