Fota Botanical garden, 2010

If you go through the Fota wildlife park to the end, you will find yourself in the Botanical garden. It’s located on the same Fota island, it’s pretty big and very well maintained. It’s a quiet place, looks like kids are more interested in zebras and parrots in the wildlife park than in herbs and trees. Well, it might be for the best)

It’s very nice to walk there in summer when flowers are blooming, too bad I didn’t really have a lot of time for it, usually I got there by the end of the day when it was time to go home. So if you once go to Fota island – try to save some time for the gardens)

Looks like a nice place, though I was expecting an actual island off the mainland. When I looked it up it actually seems to be attached to land, in the middle of a river estuary or something… I feel tricked! Should be “Fota Peninsula” or something.

Well, I would say it depends on the tide:
If there is a high tide it’s a real island, the train crosses the water 2 times when you pass it by, but when the tide is low you can technically walk I guess, though it’s not gonna be pretty.
