Wiener Christkindlmarkt

It’s time to slowly start planning the Christmas vacation I think. I have the flights booked already, I will start my vacation in Amsterdam and finish in Munich. I am thinking of visiting Cologne on the way as well… The Kölner Dom should look very beautiful in winter in Christmas time.

I have a small collection on Christmas market mugs already, and I am planning to extend it ) Also I try to bring some tree decorations from every city I spend Christmas vacations in, and with every year we need a bigger tree to fit them on ) I love German Christmas decorations, but in Vienna and Salzburg I found very interesting and beautiful ones as well.

Ashley, thanks a lot! I am very determined to see everything and to taste every Glühwein I find on my way ) Are you going somewhere on Christmas?

lol, I’m not allowed to put “mis-matching” stuff on our Christmas tree… Usually because it looks like someone threw up on it when I’m finished :p Gief pics of tree when it’s up!

wtf dont harass my way of decorating the tree )
i like mismatching stuff, cause I have the decorations from different countries, and they all represent some great vacations or memories. Mismatching tree rocks!

Oh, I’m all for the idea – but I can’t coordinate it very well, so it looks terrible when I’m done :p

Its not about the coordination, its all about the holiday spirit! )

    OK.
I myself hope to leave Mother Russia in December 20 and return as late as in January 9. Most of the time will be spent in Prague, I guess, though lol we’ve got a car and München is so close. =)

You should go to Munich, the Christmas market there is incredible, so many interesting food, beautiful decorations. Its located on the Marienplatz, the main square. Will they have something like that in Prague?

      • http://ap0stle.livejournal.com/ ap0stle

Doubt it. But still, Prague is the place where a friend of mine lives, and besides they have the finest beer on the globe at any season. =)

Though München is worth visiting, yes.

Ha! I prefer German beer, they have this white unfiltered beer that is just insanely good.
in Prague I was more busy eating local food, their veprevo koleno is something to try for sure )

This is so cool! And thank you for your support, its very very nice to know that my notes are helpful )
Well, Prague is an awesome start. I just bought some paper guide which helped me to navigate in the cafes and restaurants there. But I like to feel like a tourist )
Also you should go to the castle when its dark – I didnt do it, but I think that the view is amazing from there, also the castle has the beautiful lighting on its own.
